About Us
Whitefish Community Garden was established in the spring of 2009 through a cooperative effort between Whitefish United Methodist Church and an all volunteer board. The board consists of WUMC members and nonmembers.
The garden was begun with seed money from Avon and Soroptimist International, and
many community members and organizations assisted with the creation of the garden. Bruce Boody offered his design skills and staff to create a landscape architect plan. Midway Rental helped with heavy equipment to prepare the space. Flathead Electric Round up for Safety helped with fencing, so that families have safe secure area for children to run free and play. The Whitefish Fire Department provided water by filling our tank. And hundreds of volunteer hours have resulted in the beginnings of a beautiful, bountiful garden.
When the garden is fully developed it will consist of 70+ 4x12 foot raised beds, berry patches, fruit trees, herb plots, composting system, and a meditative space.
